About the editors:

Gerard Parke is head of the Structures Research Group at the University of Surrey. He is particularly interested in the analysis and design of steel structures, specialising in assessing the collapse behaviour of space structures. Gerard Parke has edited eight books and written over fifty papers on the design of steel structures.

Nigel Hewson formed Hewson Consulting Engineers in 2005 to provide specialist design services to clients and contractors in the fields of bridges and civil structures. With over twenty five years experience, he has designed several major prestressed concrete bridges worldwide and worked on the construction of the UK's first matchcast post-tensioned concrete bridge. His published works include Prestressed Concrete Bridges which was published by Thomas Telford in 2003.
