Entitled the Minutes of Proceedings, these contained not only papers but also Institution matters such as annual reports, announcements and membership grade transfers as well as abstracts of papers published in other contemporary journals.

188 DISCUSSION ON THE OPENING-OUT OF [Minutes of Discussion. The PRESIDENT, moving thevote of thanks, observed that in the Paper described what had had to be done to works originally constructed about 90 years ago. There were several lessons to be learned from the Paper. One was the importance of keeping proper records of all engineering work. Very often it happened that the drawings as sent out in the fist instance did not represent what was ultimately done, andthe importance of recording all changes that were necessary during the execution of a work was well known...
